  • Teacher of Science (£5k Golden Hello)

    Salary MPS/UPS + TLR or R&R

    This is a permanent role, 32.5 hours per week, paid based on MPS/UPS, dependant on experience.  A TLR or Recruitment and Retention amount is available for a candidate with the right skills and experience. 

    The Howard School is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our Science Department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Teacher of Science, to start from September 2024.

    The Science Department is very successful and offers a full range of courses across both GCSE and A Level, including A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Science is very popular and is held in high regard by students, parents, staff and the Senior Leadership Team.

    Science is very well resourced, and we offer a wide range of extracurricular STEM opportunities where there is a high uptake from students. As a large Department and School, it allows for regular opportunities for staff to take on responsibility and we can offer career advancement across both Academic and Pastoral avenues.

    The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £5k. This is split into the following payments - £2.5k subject to the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, and a further £2.5k to be paid in September 2025 as a retention incentive.

  • Student Pastoral Apprentice

    Salary Apprentice Minimum Wage

    The Howard School is seeking to appoint a highly effective Student Pastoral Apprentice with immediate effect.

    The successful candidate will be highly motivated, well organised, and have a good attention to detail. The salary for this role is Apprentice Minimum Wage. This is a full time role, working 37 per week, all year round, for the duration of a 1 year Apprenticeship.

    The role will be expected to work during each school term on a full time basis, and complete any apprenticeship studying and coursework during half terms.
