Teacher of Maths (£5k Golden Hello)

The Howard School is seeking to appoint a member of staff to join our Mathematics Department. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Teacher of Maths, to start from January 2025.
The Leadership team, led by the Principal, is hands-on and committed to creating a calm and positive work environment with high standards of behaviour. This allows staff to focus on high-quality teaching without unnecessary workload, ensuring a positive work-life balance. The Maths Department is highly successful, with top-tier attainment among non-selective schools in Kent and Medway. The department is growing, offering strong support, leadership, and CPD opportunities.
This is a full time, permanent role, paid based on MPS/UPS, dependant on experience, and a recruitment incentive of £5k as outlined below. An additional TLR or R&R payment will be available for the right candidate.
The school is offering a recruitment incentive of £5k. This is split into the following payments - £2.5k subject to the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period, and a further £2.5k to be paid in January '26 as a retention incentive. This is subject to the successful candidate remaining at the school for at least that next year.
This position would suit an experienced or Early Career Teacher with good prospects for career development.

Exam Invigialtor
The Howard School
Salary National Minimum Wage

The Howard School is seeking to appoint a reliable and effective Exams Invigilator to join our team of invigilators, who are required during exam periods and for days of tests throughout the academic year.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, with excellent communication skills and a confident and reassuring presence to students sitting exams. Employment for this position is offered on an Ad-hoc basis.
Please note that this position does not involve educating or teaching. The primary responsibility of a proctor is to ensure the integrity of the testing process by monitoring test takers and enforcing testing rules.
This is a casual, zero hour contract position paid based on the National Minimum Wage.
