Thank you for your interest in The Howard School at what I think is a very exciting time to be part of the school’s community. As part of The Howard Academy Trust, we are committed to a shared moral purpose; to make a positive difference to the lives of the young people in our community.
The Howard School is a highly inclusive school community where every individual matters. High levels of discipline ensure everyone is expected to work hard and make a positive contribution to the learning environment. The school has been recognised as a Rights Respecting School at Gold Level by UNICEF, the only secondary school in Kent or Medway to receive such an award.
"Pupils enjoy school and feel valued. The school is inclusive with a real sense of community. Relationships between pupils, and between pupils and staff, are a real strength."

Work Experience Kick-Off! Today our Year 12s came together for an inspiring assembly all about Work Experience 2025! Students learned how to choose the right placement, what paperwork they'll need to complete, and how this opportunity can help them build confidence, skills, and a clearer vision for their future Over the next few weeks, students will start exploring exciting industries, contacting potential employers, and preparing for their placement journey. We can't wait to see where their ambitions take them!
Huge congratulations to our amazing Year 7 mathematicians! Yesterday they took part in the brilliant Merry Mathsmas workshop and what a fantastic time they had! Our students got stuck into the festive Fold and Cut Tree activity , where they learnt how a single sheet of paper can turn into impressive mathematical shapes. They followed the steps, made predictions, and created their very own Fold and Cut Trees to take home. So many creative results! They also took part in a fun lottery ticket challenge . Each student completed their own ticket during the workshop, and the tickets will be collected and entered into a prize draw. Fingers crossed, Year 7! To help them take part, students used teamwork, problem-solving, precision cutting, and plenty of mathematical reasoning . A huge well done to everyone for showing fantastic focus and enthusiasm throughout the session! Special thanks to Think Maths for delivering such an engaging and festive workshop. Well done, Year 7 you absolutely sleighed it!
