Ms F McLean
Trust Inclusion Lead (Secondary)
I am the Trust Inclusion Lead for Secondary Academies. I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENCo. I hold the National Award for Special Education Needs Coordinator. I lead a team including our AENCO, Mrs Greening, and a growing body of Teaching Assistants who offer in class support as well as run interventions. I manage the Base which is a facility that was introduced in September 2020 which is run by HLTAs. It is a facility that has evolved over time to support students with a variety of needs as well as students who need wellbeing support. We are currently working with Nurture UK to achieve the National Nurturing Schools Programme.
My role is a varied one and involves a lot of work with parents, students and External Agencies including the local authority. We are working hard to ensure the provision for students with SEND is outstanding prominently through the classroom and using interventions as required. Student wellbeing is very important to me and this is why we have developed our wellbeing offer and we are delighted to be working with NELFT’s Mental Health Support Team as well as Kent Counselling Service, MCH and Mind to offer a range of wellbeing support both individually and in small groups.
