On Friday 26 January, students from the Ambassador Team at The Howard travelled to Mid-Kent college to attend a conference with other schools on the theme of “Identity” as part of a wider scheme to understand the challenges young people face in Medway. Their day started with different icebreakers to settle the students in; including a game of Human Bingo. Students then took part in live political debate on topics including homophobia, racism and immigration, with all suggestions being taken into account by the organisers, who will compile a report to present to Medway Council. The conference was very productive, with students also being given the opportunity to meet and discuss one-to-one with Vince Maple, leader of Medway Council.
