On Monday 3rd June, our amazing Year 13 Forensics students took part in a realistic road traffic collision simulation between a Fiat 500 and a Kawasaki Ninja— all set in wild, windy conditions to make it feel even more real

Sadly, the staged crash involved a fatality (don’t worry — all pretend!), and students had to investigate the scene just like real forensic experts. They analysed skid marks, studied CCTV footage, and looked at toxicology reports.

Key findings:

  • The Fiat 500 driver was under the legal alcohol limit
  • The motorcyclist had alcohol in their system
  • Students used evidence to work out speeds, braking distances and what likely led to the cras

This hands-on experience gave our students a proper taste of what it’s like to work in forensic science — piecing together the evidence and solving real-life style case.

Massive well done to everyone involved — what a brilliant way to put your skills to the test
